Laura Fonseca is the senior director of programs and initiatives at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ where she works alongside internal and external constituents to design and implement programs and efforts that increase access and equity along the legal education journey. Fonseca has extensive experience in higher education and law school environments where she has taught and served in various student services leadership roles. Her career began in the field of international development which set the foundation for her commitment to collaborative practices and data-informed, community-led solutions. Fonseca holds a doctorate from Indiana University and a master’s degree from the University of Florida.
The recently published ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Knowledge Report underscores the need for coordinated and persistent efforts to understand and address the specific needs of today’s aspiring lawyers.
For more than two decades, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµâ€™s Plus program has been at the forefront of empowering aspiring law students. For 2024, the program has undergone a transformative redesign, enabling it to reach more students, offer increased support throughout the application journey, and collaborate with a greater number of law schools than ever before.
