The Full New Testing UI for the 2026-27 Testing Cycle is Now Available
As announced鈥in February, we are moving to a new test delivery platform for the LSAT, beginning with the August 2026 test. This new platform will provide important new test security and test administration capabilities, but it will also result in certain User Interface (UI) changes for test takers. Based on user feedback, we鈥檝e made a number of improvements, described below. Combined with the return to in-person testing, the new test delivery platform will help us to maintain the security and integrity of the LSAT for years to come.
The content of the LSAT is not changing 鈥 only the user interface.
To help students prepare, 精东影业 launched an interactive preview of the new UI in LawHub in March. We received valuable feedback and incorporated many suggested improvements.
We have now finalized the new UI for the 2026-27 testing cycle that begins with the August LSAT. In addition to the functionality we added in the May 19 update, we have now added highlighting across all test content, including the stimulus, question stem, and answer choices.
We have updated all Official LSAT PrepTests in the鈥 鈥 approximately 60 tests 鈥 to reflect this new UI, so people planning to take the LSAT in the coming year can practice and familiarize themselves with the features of the platform.
Changes Based on User Feedback
Since March, we鈥檝e made several improvements based on user feedback:
- Fully functional highlighting and underlining across the stimulus, question stem, and answer choices. Highlighting works a little differently than it did in the old UI, so take the time to get familiar with the new highlighting.
- The question bar was redesigned to display all questions in a section rather than only 10 at a time.
- Separators within the question bar to show the question numbers associated with each of the Reading Comprehension passages.
- Flagged items visible in the question bar for easy reference and navigation.
- A 鈥淩eset Response鈥 button in each question set, enabling users to clear answer selections and/or answer eliminations with one click.
There are some things in the new UI that we can鈥檛 change. Due to the underlying structure of the new test driver platform, we are not able to provide so-called 鈥渞adio-button鈥 functionality for selecting and eliminating answers with a single click.
We recognize how strongly test takers feel about maximizing their time and focus during their test session, which is why we worked to finalize the new UI and publish updated practice tests as early as possible, so that test takers can practice in the new UI and become comfortable with the features and how they work.
We will continue working with test preparation partners and others to ensure a smooth transition to the new testing platform.
